It isn’t surprising that superstars in any industry choose to take their additional time and money to try to branch into new industries. When it comes to country music stars, it is the same thing. From creating restaurant chains to literal theme parks, these stars certainly know what to do with their resources. Here are 10 country stars who made side hustles off their musical success.
Dolly Parton
Dolly Parton took the time to create the Dollywood Company, which eventually led to the creation of multiple entertainment venues which does include Dollywood. Dollywood is a theme park located in Tennessee and opened many years ago in 1986. Despite it being decades since it opened, Dollywood remains one of the more popular tourist attractions. Parton also wrote a few books, created merchandise, and even helped produce a few shows/movies. In all honesty, Dolly Parton is one of the most successful country music stars of all time given her success across every industry she’s chosen to get into. Whether that be clothing, theme parks, writing, and producing, Parton had success.

Blake Shelton
Blake Shelton chose to take his time and invest it into creating a place to eat, drink, and simply enjoy some live music. With all of this in mind, he went and created a bar named Ole Red. Well, it’s classified as a bar, restaurant, and even a venue all in one. Shelton didn’t just stop himself right there, he also partnered up to co-found a brand called Smithworks Vodka. The vodka brand is pretty popular in its own right, yet it isn’t even the immediate thing that gets mentioned when bringing up his name. Perhaps you could even throw in the fact that he’s a judge on “The Voice” as a side hustle, although that might be a bit of a stretch. Overall, this country music star does not shy away from good business opportunities.
Miranda Lambert
Miranda Lambert went in a different direction compared to Blake Shelton and emerged successful, nonetheless. Lambert created a brand called Idyllwind. Idyllwind is a clothing brand that offers an array of popular items and accessories. She took some level of inspiration from the way she dresses herself to bring this new brand to life. There is even a hashtag that’s been created for pictures that include any of the clothing or accessories that the brand has in store. Just search for #IDYLLWIND and you’re likely to find a few of the great pieces that they offer.
Kenny Chesney
Kenny Chesney wanted to take the popularity that he’s garnered and turn it into a side hustle of his own. That’s why he created Blue Chair Bay Rum. As the title suggests, Blue Chair Bay Rum features a variety of different rums, perfectly bottled for consumption. Their website states that it’s inspired by the “island lifestyle” of Chesney. Once you get that thought into the back of your mind, you can quickly see it for yourselves. Even if you aren’t a big rum person, there are so many flavors available that one is sure to pique your interest a little.
Tim McGraw and Faith Hill
You might not know this, but both Tim McGraw and his wife Faith Hill both featured in a few television shows and movies. McGraw appeared in the movies “The Blind Side” and “Tomorrowland” while popping up in the television show “Yellowstone” as well. His wife, Faith Hill, starred in a separate television series titled “1883”. Getting into acting is certainly a very impressive side hustle to boast about, though the couple didn’t get complacent. They dove into the world of fragrance and came out with a perfume/cologne called “McGraw”. Just when you thought it wasn’t enough for them to dive into acting, they went out and created entirely new scents.

Garth Brooks
Garth Brooks had an unbelievably impressive side hustle. He decided that he wanted to do something different, something unique, something that nobody had been able to accomplish before. So, Brooks created Ghost Tunes. It was a digital library of music that you could sync across numerous devices to store it all in one place. Ghost Tunes might not ring any bells, but it was so successful that it eventually got absorbed by a little thing called Amazon Music. This isn’t even the only thing that Brooks has done either, opening his own venue titled “Friends in Low Places” Honky Tonk, named after a song of his. The guy knows how to get the job done in the business world.
Zac Brown
This side hustle probably isn’t something that you’d be able to guess on your own. Zac Brown did some hard thinking and decided that he wanted to release his own cookbook, which he did. The cookbook features a handful of recipes that he and his friends love to make, and it includes poems, songs, and stories. When you think of a country music star, you usually don’t immediately jump to their primary side hustle being a cookbook, but that just goes to show Brown’s deep love for food and his understanding of the culinary arts. He’s also helped create tons of merchandise and got involved with a production company to create even more unique musical projects that he’s interested in.

Brad Paisley
Brad Paisley’s side hustle isn’t all about getting more fame or money, it’s about giving back. He helped create something called The Store, and this group is all about fighting food insecurity as best as possible. If you travel to their website, you’ll find that anybody can donate to help with rising hunger across their community in Tennessee. You’re able to donate supplies, purchase some on their Amazon wish list, and attend their events as they try to help as many people as possible. It’s a non-profit venture but one that Paisley is incredibly proud to be a part of. You could also include the smaller string of commercials that he created with Nationwide and former NFL quarterback Peyton Manning. The two shared had their commercials played for quite some time and even made use of Paisley’s musical abilities.
Toby Keith
Toby Keith went down the same rabbit hole as a few other country stars, creating his very own chain of restaurants. The restaurant chain is called “I Love This Bar & Grill”, and it might not sound like it, but that’s the genuine name. Fans would recognize quickly that it’s supposed to be a play-off of his famous song, “I Love This Bar”. That extra piece of information helps the name make a little more sense to those unfamiliar with him. Similar to Blake Shelton’s venue, Keith’s restaurant chain offers live country music as well.
Carrie Underwood
Carrie Underwood was another country music star who took her talents to the clothing industry. She partnered up with Dick’s Sporting Goods to create a new line of clothing called CALIA. It’s a fitness-centered clothing brand that she was heavily involved with for multiple years. Unfortunately, she did step away from the brand, but she has so much influence in its success and creation that it’s hard to ignore her contributions to it.
