Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/4 cup ketchup (for topping)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, chopped onion, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and thyme. Mix until well combined.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan and shape it into a loaf. In a separate small bowl, mix together the ketchup and brown sugar, then spread it evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  5. Remove from the oven and let it rest for about 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
