Kitchen Basics: How to Make Easy Homemade Flour Tortillas

When it comes to how to make homemade flour tortillas this recipe is the only way to go. Homemade tortillas have been a huge staple for me recently, they are so simple to make and taste so much better than any store-bought tortilla. I use these when I’m making quesadillas, burritos, enchiladas, fajitas, tortilla chips, or anything that you would need a tortilla for I make the homemade version, these easy tortillas are soft with the most perfect flavor

I first started making homemade tortillas about a year ago when I saw a TikTok of a woman making homemade tortilla chips and in her comments, she mentioned that she had also made the tortillas herself. They weren’t store-bought that she was just cutting up to then fry for tortilla chips and I thought Oh my gosh that’s so cool I wonder if I could do that. So I scoured the web for a few hours, trying to find what looked like the best how to make homemade flour tortillas recipe and I tried a few.

Some were a little bit too thick for me, some weren’t big enough, some weren’t soft enough, but this recipe is the perfect soft, thin tortilla. Typically to make tortillas you would use a tortilla press to allow you to get a nice then tortilla. I don’t have one of those but if you use the method in this how to make homemade flour tortillas recipe it’ll all work out and it’s really not necessary. I try to avoid buying new kitchen equipment if it’s only for one sole purpose because as a college student, we’re cooking on budget and my apartment is also tiny and I don’t have space for a tortilla press on my counter.

When I’ve made this how to make homemade flour tortillas for friends, everyone has been so shocked and surprised that they were homemade and not from the store, because they really are so good. The best is when you make them right before you’re going to serve them.
