Not every vacation is about relaxation or sightseeing. Some are about getting the adrenaline pumping. Achieving this can be difficult if on a family trip. Yet, for families who love staying at a resort, a water park with amazing slides might be something to consider. The best water slides can deliver a thrill – but also life-long memories.
If you are looking for the best resorts with water slides, look no further.
Aulani, A Disney Resort and Spa
If you are looking for an open-air water slide perfect for solo or paired riders, Aulani’s Tubestone Curl could be a top choice. This fantastic water slide has you hurtling through single and double tubes, perfect for adrenaline seekers. On the flip side, the Volcanic Vertical is an enclosed slide that ends with a mighty splash in the Waikolohe Pool. For those looking for something slower, the water park includes infinity pools, a lazy river, and an all-out splash zone. Find out more about Disney’s Aulani Resort.

El Conquistador Resort, A Waldorf Astoria Resort
The El Conquistador is a highly-rated resort. And for water slide fans, this resort has a 253-foot shoot perfect for hitting maximum velocity before a vertical drop. For any family member quick with a camera, the facial expression on those dropping is second to none. Remember, you’ll need a high-frame camera to get those pics, so go prepared (it’s worth it). For those looking for a slower pace, relax on the lazy river or enjoy the views from the infinity pool. It overlooks the Caribbean Sea (romantic if you can distract your kids long enough to take it in).
Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort
The idea of a 242-foot water slide might not seem too impressive, after reading about our previous resort’s offering. Yet, at the Four Seasons, the water slide comes with an added fear factor. During an enclosed section of the slide, there is a see-through fiberglass section where you feel as if free-falling. You see everything around, perfect for anyone looking for that extra notch of adrenaline. For those not looking for that rush, this resort offers a family pool, splash zone, and lazy river. Plus, you can head to The Hideout for more fun and games.

Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun
If quantity is more important than length and speed, the Royalton Splash Riviera has 14 water slides. Each is perfect for family adrenaline seekers. The best thing about this resort is that it’s huge, so you can spend hours exploring and getting all involved. The resort includes two lazy rivers for the more casual adventurers, spray grounds which are great fun, and the splash pad.
Golden Nugget Las Vegas
The most spectacular water slide on this list is The Tank at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas. The water slide is encased, see-through, and goes through a massive aquarium filled with sea life – including sharks. That’s right, as you hurtle down the water slide, expect to have a different experience each time. For many, it’s as close to swimming with sharks as they’ll want to get.
Grand Wailea, A Waldorf Astoria Resort
If a three-story drop from an illuminated water slide ticks your box, add the Grand Wailea’s Lava Tube to your list of must-visit resort water slides. What adds even more of a flourish to the Lava Tube is that it makes you do a 360 turn as you fall. Some may not like it, but it gives it a unique feel. The Grand Wailea boasts several interconnected slides, nine different pools, whitewater rapids, and a Tarzan pool. The Tarzan pool is perfect for those who love a classic rope swing into the water. Finally, for those who want something unique, the water elevator is the most terrifying contraption ever. Yet, that’s likely down to my fear of elevators that don’t have water.
Hilton Rose Hall Resort and Spa
Up to now, the biggest water slide on this list was 242 feet. The Sugar Mills water park, which you have access to if staying at the Hilton Rose Hall resort, adds 38 more feet. That’s right, for those brave enough, there’s a 280-foot water slide to hurtle down (if you so wish). For those unwilling to make the climb, there are waterfalls, lagoons, three whirlpools, and a kid zone to enjoy. Plus, the water park is perfect for younger kids. It includes many smaller slides for youngsters to enjoy while the adults chill, enjoying the blue waters of Jamaica’s Montego Bay.
JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort and Spa
If staying at the JW Marriot San Antonio Hill Country Resort and Spa, you and your family get access to the River Bluff water experience. This water park includes the Acequia, a 275-foot-long water slide that will have you twisting and hurtling along for what feels like an age. For those who want something more relaxing, there is a 1,100-foot-long lazy river – which is not to be missed. Plus, the water park is 9 acres and packed with everything a water park-loving family dreams of.
Atlantis Paradise Island
If you are looking for a water park that can fill a week-long vacation, Atlantis Paradise Island is your go-to destination. Not only does it have The Abyss, a 200-foot-long body slide that drops you 50 feet into a lagoon. Plus, seven more adrenaline-pumping slides, including The Power Tower and Mayan Temple slide. This is the ultimate water park for thrill-seekers.
The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain
Dove Mountain delivers an impressive 235-foot water slide, but it is the luxury on offer that makes this Arizona resort worth visiting. From butler service to pool cabanas, this might be the most relaxed way to have a water slide-inspired family vacation. And for those parents looking to let the kids roam in the splash pad, there’s an adults-only serenity pool with a 10-foot tanning island to enjoy. This resort could be perfect for parents who don’t enjoy water slides, but whose kids do.

Arizona Grand Resort & Spa’s Oasis
If you have young kids, the Arizona Grant Resort and Spa’s Oasis water park might be the perfect destination. Its Wild Cat Springs is packed with activities for youngsters. For those a little bigger and braver, the eight-story tall water slide will get the excitement pumping. The park fills a seven-acre plot and includes a 25-person hot tub, perfect for a large bubble-loving family.
Camelback Resort
If you are looking for a top resort, packed with water slides within 90 miles of New York, then the Camelback Resort is your go-to option. Offering both indoor and outdoor water parks, not even the weather can stop you from getting your water slide on. There are a total of 13 water slides to enjoy, and there are even excellent attractions for toddlers too.
Nickelodeon Spa & Resort Punta Cana
If your kids need their favorite characters from TV to be happy, the Nickelodeon Spa and Resort in Punta Cana is a must. It doesn’t offer outlandish water slides for adrenaline seekers, but its family-friendly setup is perfect for water park fans. There are several water slides to enjoy, but it’s the Slime Zone that stands out. Plus, the resort does live Nickelodeon shows where kids can take part and win cool prizes.
