Pink Star Diamond Ring

This is, by far, one of the most expensive diamond rings that someone has ever purchased. The ring owner is unknown, but the story goes that the ring was initially put up for auction at $61 million and, after a bidding war and commission fees, sold for $83 million.

This beautiful ring features a pink star diamond that is considered one of the most sought-after in the world. In 1999 this precious stone was discovered in Africa, and over two years, it was polished, cut, and shaped into the gorgeous diamond it is today at 59.6-carats.

Wittelsbach-Graff Diamond

Coming in at number two, this $80 million diamond ring was once owned by Philip IV of Spain before it made its way into the hands of the Wittelsbach family. Weighing in at 31.06-carats, the diamond is a beautiful deep blue. It was initially discovered in India in the 1600s, and Laurence Graff is the jeweler who crafted it into the beautiful diamond ring you see today. It’s definitely one of the most expensive diamond rings in the world.

Oppenheimer Blue Diamond Ring

Being one of the largest blue diamonds ever sold at an auction, this ring was named after Sir Philip Oppenheimer. Purchased for $57.5 million, it weighs in at 14.2-carats and has two trapeze-cut white diamonds that are housed on a stunning platinum band. The Oppenheimer family, who owns De Beers Mining Company, found the diamond that would eventually become one of the most expensive diamond rings in the world, in South Africa in the 1990s.

The Gaff Pink Diamond Ring

Known as “The King of Diamonds,” Laurence Gaff was the owner of this ring before being auctioned in Hong Kong in 2010. Set in platinum, the ring houses two shield-shaped white diamonds and weighs 24.78-carats. The diamond ring sold at auction for a whopping $46.2 million and was expected to stay at the top of the list of most expensive diamond rings for quite some time.

Cullinan Dream

Found initially by the Petra Cullinan Diamond Mine, the diamond ring was sold at an auction in New York in 2016 for $25.4 million. Being 10-carats larger than the Oppenheimer Blue, this ring is set in platinum with baguette-cut side stones. It is by far one of the most beautiful blue diamonds to ever appear at auction.

The Winston Blue Diamond Ring

Named after the famous Harry Winston, this blue diamond is considered one of the world’s largest. Worth $23.8 million, it weighed 13.22-carats and was crafted into the shape of a tear. Not only that, but the ring itself was crafted out of the diamond, making it very rare indeed.

Perfect Pink Diamond Ring

In 2015, Christie’s auction house sold the Perfect Pink diamond ring for $23.2 million. Most often purchased as engagement rings, pink diamond rings are the most popular rings purchased. The diamond weighs in at 14.23-carats, with the ring, which is platinum and gold, weighing in at 1.73-carats. It will go down in history as one of the most expensive diamond rings in the world.

The Bulgari Blue Diamond

Another ring sold at the famous Christie’s auction was the Bulgari Blue Diamond. What makes this ring unique is that the diamond is flawless, and it is set on a band with smaller diamonds. The person who ended up buying the diamond for $18.3 million remains anonymous.

These fantastic rings have a history like none other, ranging from where how they were transformed to who their owners now are. This adds to just how unique they are.
